Working for one of the countries leading insurance operations, you'll pro-actively develop profitable commercial business through technical assessment of individual risk involving the negotiation and processing of suitable terms.

Underwriting existing business mainly, but also some new business via leads and opportunities received from a panel of brokers.
Working within your own underwriting authority and ensuring company procedures, practices and guidelines are adhered to at all times.
Underwriting Property, Liability, Combined, Package.
Working towards your own and the Teams objectives and targets on the acquisition of profitable new business.
Underwrite existing business (MTA's, Renewals, Surveys etc.) ensuring retention targets are achieved.
Identify opportunities to develop relationships with brokers/intermediaries, including attending meetings internally and externally where required.
Delivering service levels that meet company and client expectations.
Accurately respond to queries raised on policies and products by brokers, surveyors, accounts and claims departments.
Handle technical referrals from less experienced colleagues from Operations or Underwriting.
Undertake projects and other tasks as requested.

You'll need to have previous commercial underwriting experience.
Be well organised, demonstrate the ability to be a self-motivated, self starter with a desire to learn and develop.

Be educated to A Level or equivalent.
