Salary: £20,000 per annum

4SIGHT is a well-established Charity supporting people living with sight loss in West Sussex. At 4SIGHT, our dedicated team of staff and volunteers work together to provide valuable support and services.

We are now recruiting for the position of Full-Time (35 worked hours per week) Community Outreach Worker to join our existing staff team. This is initially a 12-month contract with the possibility of an extension, subject to the availability of funding.

Our Outreach Workers are based at our 4SIGHT Centres but also deliver Drop-In sessions, Low Vision Clinics and Sight Awareness Training across the County. This is a peripatetic position as the post-holder will be mobile, providing support and services to people living with sight loss in Crawley, Horsham and Mid Sussex

The post-holder will be joining our existing Outreach Team, delivering a person-centred, supportive and innovative service to new and existing 4SIGHT members, as well as networking within the local community to help maintain and develop our existing services. Specific duties will include the provision of Low Vision Assessments alongside guidance and demonstrations of Daily Living Aids and Accessible Technology.

The post-holder will ideally be qualified to NVQ level 3 or above in health, social care, education, community work or rehabilitation in visual impairment, however, relevant training will be provided. They will have excellent communication skills, have at least one year’s recent experience of working with people in a social care setting and be committed to working with people with various visual impairments.
