The University of Chichester is committed to social work education. The Department hosts an expanding portfolio of programmes and was rated in the top 5% of UK universities, for overall student satisfaction in the 2017 National Student Survey.
The post holder will take a lead role in the development, monitoring and managing of practice learning within the Department of Childhood Social Work and Social Care. Specifically, the post-holder will co-ordinate, monitor and evaluate placements through agreed quality systems and develop and deliver support networks for practice educators and on-site supervisors, in conjunction with employer partners. The role involves contribution to the education, training and development of practice educators and the maintenance of high quality practice experiences for students. The post holder will contribute to the general delivery of the social work and social care qualifying and post-qualifying programmes and, specifically, to organise and deliver the ''Professional Practice'' modules of the BA (Hons) Social Work and MA Social Work. The role requires a commitment to effective collaboration with employers and partner agencies to develop qualifying and post-qualifying courses.
Personal qualities include the ability to demonstrate resilience and good communication skills when working under pressure. In addition, the ability to actively engage, enthuse and motivate students is paramount. Registration with the HCPC, a practice learning qualification and experience of practice learning and work place education outside or within higher education is essential.
