Harvey John are representing a rapidly growing independent clothing retailed based in North London for in their search for a capable and motivated Accounts Assistant.

This is an international business which has seen threefold growth in revenue over the last 3 years and has contracts with some of the largest clothing wholesalers in Europe, North America and Australia.

The role would suit those with 1-2 years experience in a similar junior accounts role and offers study support to undertake an AAT qualification. Due to company growth, there are exciting prospects for the role with the opportunity to move into a support role for the Management Accountant within 6-9 months of starting, followed by a further hire at this level.

Due to the immediate needs of the company, the ideal candidate will need to be able to interview at short notice over the next week. This opportunity offers the chance to work in a rapidly growing, down to earth business with a vibrant working environment including Prosecco Fridays! There are also yearly clothing allowance of £1500 per staff member.

Role and responsibilities

• Bank Reconciliation:

• Daily:
• USD , GBP and EUR bank account
• Retail reconciliation from both shops
• Paypal and Klarna
• Weekly:
• Shop petty cash
• Studio petty cash / foreign currencies

• Accounts Payable:
• Purchase ledger – 140 invoices a month
• Payment run twice a month / individual payments depends on needs
• Weekly ledger reports
• Company credit cards
• Expenses

• Accounts Receivable
• Wholesale invoicing – 160 invoices a month
• Proforma invoices – and follow up payments
• Credit control – only by email as a first reminder as mainly is done by wholesale team
• Weekly debtors report

Requirements

• 1-2 Years' experience on similar role or, if less, a minimum of AAT LEVEL 3
• EXCEL intermediate – pivot tables / VLOOKUPS
• Retail industry preferable
• Sage 200 preferable
