Oulton Park is one of the UK’s most prestigious and picturesque race circuits, owned and operated by the Motorsport Vision Group (MSV). Throughout the 2024 race season Oulton Park will play host to some of the UKs biggest motor racing championships including British GT, GB3, Bennetts British Superbikes & BTCC along with the infamous Oulton Park Gold Cup.

We are currently seeking a dynamic Catering & Hospitality Manager to oversee our front-of-house operations at the circuit. Collaborating closely with our Head Chef and Assistant Catering & Hospitality Manager, you'll orchestrate seamless front-of-house operations in our large cafeteria style restaurant, Chequers. Ensuring both our regular track days and driving events, as well as our high-profile promoted events are sufficiently staffed and ran successfully within budget.

In addition to managing the Chequers Restaurant, you'll lead the hospitality functions across the circuit. The Fogarty Moss Centre, boasting a capacity of 550, serves as a versatile venue for banquets, conferences, meetings, and corporate driving experiences. Your role will entail leading the team to meet and exceed our customers' expectations and demands in both settings.

Main duties and responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of both areas (Chequers & Fogarty Moss Centre) and will be involved with staff management and the training and development of the existing team, although other duties may include:

  • Managing and supporting the Assistant Catering & Hospitality Manager and Head Chef to deliver an efficient, modern and well-run catering department with a reputation for high quality food and high standards of customer service.
  • Working with the Oulton Park Events Coordinator to deliver first class event hospitality and conferencing, with an emphasis on high quality food, presentation and guest experience.
  • Running the front of house operation including servery, coffee shop & bar.
  • Ensuring the presentation of Chequers is of the highest standard at all times
  • Ensuring Chequers is effectively staffed to the appropriate level depending on the event or circuit activity
  • Recruiting, onboarding and training of new team members
  • Ensuring new staff are correctly inducted and are compliant with working time and right to work legislation
  • Ordering and controlling stock levels
  • Managing financial budgets and targets
  • Managing time spent between Chequers and Hospitality function
  • Working closely with the circuit management team and the experienced kitchen team to ensure food and service standards are met.

Requirements of the Role

  • Previous management experience within a Bar / Catering / Hospitality environment
  • Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills
  • Awareness of food safety
  • Strong teamwork ethic within and between departments
  • Awareness of health and safety legislation

This is a permanent position based on 42.5 hours a week including weekends. Given the dynamic demands of our events, adaptability to varying working hours, particularly during weekends and evenings will be essential.
