Food Processing Assistant

As part of our Milk Processing team at Goodwood, you’ll play an important role in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of our milk production processes. Reporting to the Dairy Processing Manager, you’ll help maintain high standards of quality, food safety and hygiene, while also providing regular support to the Butchery team on Fridays.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys being part of a team and is keen to learn across different areas of food production.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting the daily operation of the milk processing area to ensure production runs smoothly and efficiently
  • Monitoring and checking milk quality at each stage of the process
  • Carrying out routine tasks such as pasteurisation and packaging
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment in line with health and safety standards
  • Completing accurate production and quality control records
  • Assisting with stock management, including replenishing raw materials and supplies
  • Following HACCP procedures to ensure food safety standards are consistently met
  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment to the highest standards
  • Working collaboratively to meet production targets and support workflow
  • Providing regular support to the Butchery team on Fridays, with flexibility to assist elsewhere in the dairy process when needed
  • Assisting with the transportation of milk and other materials as required

What you’ll need

  • Prior experience in a food production or processing environment is desirable
  • An understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
  • Basic knowledge of HACCP principles, or a willingness to learn
  • Confidence working with food processing equipment and machinery
  • A flexible approach to tasks and working hours to support production demands
  • A good level of physical fitness, including the ability to lift, carry and move items as part of the role
  • Willingness to support other departments when required – full training will be provided
  • A full, clean driving licence and reliable transport to commute to site (essential)
