Following on from our advice on how to write a great CV (CV Tips) we are delighted to bring you an example. Our fictitious CV writer has spent his career in recruitment and sales and is looking for a new opportunity:

I am a dedicated, intelligent sales person and have spent my working career in sales and recruitment in Cornwall. I have become very knowledgeable in most areas of recruitment in Cornwall in addition to developing a strong ability to develop business and close sales. Having held several branch manager roles in Cornwall I am also experienced in staff management. I am keen to take on a new challenge in recruitment in Cornwall. I am excellent with computers and find I adapt quickly to any package presented to me.
2006 - Date
BJE Recruitment, Cornwall
My main responsibilities in this challenging role include establishing relationships with Cornwall companies, as well as businesses further afield, maintaining a great working knowledge of jobs in Cornwall and recruitment in Cornwall and ensuring the smooth running of my branch through effective management of the team. Our key focus is Cornwall recruitment which I feel that I have aided by ensuring that I attend local networking events and conferences. I have been able to dramatically increase our Cornwall business as well as business as a whole. My best achievement has been to create a relationship with Cornwall County Council / North Cornwall District Council. We were able to fill these public sector jobs very efficiently.
2000 – 2006

During my time here we specialised in temporary recruitment in Cornwall. I was responsible for a team of 9 making sure they remained motivated and effective. I set achievable targets and a reward scheme to ensure staff morale. In addition established excellent relationships with Cornwall businesses in order to help with their temporary recruitment in Cornwall.
1998 – 2000

I started as a trainee consultant and in just 2 years advanced to a senior consultant role. It was during my work here that I gained knowledge about recruitment in Cornwall and undertook a great deal of training including the legal and regulatory aspects of recruitment, managing staff skills and sales. I was also consistently the top sales person for my branch.

This was my first role after leaving school and I started as a junior in the telesales department and rose to the position of senior advertising sales executive. My key responsibilities included maintaining relationships with Cornwall businesses in order to receive their recruitment advertising. I would also assist my clients with making sure that their recruitment advertising was effective.
